5) Numbered with the transgressors

Luke 22:35-38

“See, we are going up to Jerusalem, ​and everything that is written about​the Son of Man by the prophets will be accomplished. ​Luke 18:31

For he will be delivered over to the Gentiles​ and will be mocked and shamefully treated and spit upon. And after flogging him, they will kill him, ​and on the third day he will rise.” ​Luke 18:32-33

For I tell you that this Scripture must be fulfilled in me: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors.’ ​For what is written about me has its fulfillment.”​ Luke 22:37

Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, ​and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, ​because he poured out his soul to death ​and was numbered with the transgressors; ​yet he bore the sin of many, ​and makes intercession for the transgressors. ​Isaiah 55:12

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, ​so that in him ​we might become the righteousness of God. ​2 Corinthians 5:21

He was born from a transgressor

“How will this be, since I am a virgin?” ​Luke 1:34

 And while they were there, ​the time came for her to give birth. ​And she gave birth to her firstborn son ​and wrapped him in swaddling cloths ​and laid him in a manger, ​because there was no place for them in the inn. ​Luke 2:6-7

The LORD looks down from heaven​ on the children of man, ​to see if there are any who understand, ​who seek after God. They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt;​ there is none who does good, not even one. ​Psalm 14:2-3

but the woman was deceived ​and became a transgressor. ​1 Timothy 2:14

He was baptised with transgressors

“I baptize you with water for repentance, ​but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, ​whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. ​He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.  ​Matthew 3:11

But Jesus answered him, ​“Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us ​to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented. ​Matthew 3:17

He was punished for transgressions

Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, ​and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, ​because he poured out his soul to death ​and was numbered with the transgressors;​ Isaiah 53:12

But transgressors shall be altogether destroyed; ​the future of the wicked shall be cut off. ​Psalm 37:38

He released the man who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, for whom they asked, ​but he delivered Jesus over to their will. ​Luke 23:25

There they crucified him, and with him two others, ​one on either side, and Jesus between them. ​John 19:18

Where they crucified him, and two other with him, ​on either side one, and Jesus in the idst. John 19:18 (KJV)

It was now about the sixth hour, ​and there was darkness over the whole land ​until the ninth hour, while the sun's light failed. ​And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. ​Luke 23:44-45
