Psalm 148:1-14
Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good Psalm 106:1
How God is praised
Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD from the heavens; praise him in the heights! Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his hosts! Psalm 148:1-2
And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” Revelation 4:8
Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, Revelation 5:11
After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, Revelation 7:9
Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars! Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens! Psalm 148:3-4
And God made the two great lights – the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night - and the stars. Genesis 1:16
Praise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures and all deeps, Psalm 148:7
Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all rulers of the earth! Young men and maidens together, old men and children! Psalm 148:11-12
Let them praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above earth and heaven. He has raised up a horn for his people, praise for all his saints, for the people of Israel who are near to him. Praise the LORD! Psalm 148:12-13
Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.” Matthew 6:9
Why God is praised
For His name alone is exalted Psalm 148:13
God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” Exodus 3:14
I am the LORD; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols. Isaiah 42:8
Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, Philippians 2:9
his majesty is above earth and heaven. Psalm 148:13
He has raised up a horn for his people. Psalm 148:14
