7) We will walk … Unwavering Faith    2 Cor 5:1-10

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)

Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honourable use and another for dishonourable use?  (Romans 9:21)

for we walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Cor 5:7)

1. We walk by faith

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (1 Peter 1:3)

So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. (2 Cor 5:9)

For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.  (2 Cor 5:1)

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ,  (Phil 3:20)

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.  (Heb 11:1)

2. Not by sight

And the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, and said to him, “To you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will.   (Luke 4:4-5)

And he took him to Jerusalem and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you, to guard you,’ (Luke 4:9-10)

For Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica.  (2 Tim 4:10)

But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled, my steps had nearly slipped. For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.  (Psalm 73:2-3)

But when I thought how to understand this, it seemed to me a wearisome task, until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I discerned their end.  (Ps 72:16-17)
