2) “walk in … ” Ephesians 5:1-21
1. Walk in Love
God is love. (1 John 4:8)
And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. (Eph 5:2)
We love because he first loved us. (1 John 4:19)
In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. (1 John 4:10)
And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbour as yourself.” (Luke 10:27)
2. Walk in Light
This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5)
Therefore do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (Eph 5:7-8)
(for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), (Eph 5:9)
3. Walk in Wisdom
the only wise God (Romans 16:27)
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise (Eph 5:15)
making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. (Eph 5:16)
Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, (Eph 5:17-18)
addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. (Eph 5:19-21)
