The descriptions of the Lord

1. The description to Sardis

And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: ‘The words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. (Rev 3:1)

John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood (Rev 1:4-5)

From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God  (Rev 4:5)

And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. (Rev 5:6)

“‘I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead.  (Rev 3:1)

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. (John 6:63)

If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. (Rom 8:11)

“And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: ‘The words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. “ (Rev 3:1)

As for the mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands, the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches. (Rev 1:20)

2. The description to others

“To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: ‘The words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands. (Rev 2:1)

‘The words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens. (Rev 3:7)

… the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and whose feet are like burnished bronze. (Rev 2:18)

Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. (Rev 3:19)
