6) Fear

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light;  (Isaiah 9:2)

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. (Luke 1:32)

for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. (Luke 1:49)

And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:10-11)

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying … (Luke 2:8)

And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear.

1. Angel of God

“Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”  (Luke 2:10-12)

And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. (Luke 2:16)

And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear.   (Luke 2:9)

2. Glory of God

“Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!” (Isaiah 6:5)

And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”  (Gen 3:8-9)

She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”  (Matt 1:21)
