23) The Residents Believe

Acts 9:32-43

And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. John 16:8-11

And all the residents of Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord. Acts 9:35

And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord. Acts 9:42

Lydda

Now as Peter went here and there among them all Acts 9:32

“Feed my lambs” … “Tend my Sheep” … “Feed by sheep” John 21:15, 16 & 17

There he found a man named Aeneas, bedridden for eight years, who was paralyzed. Acts 9:33

“I say to you, rise, pick up your bed and go home.” Luke 5:24

“Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” John 5:8

And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; rise and make your bed.”  Acts 9:34

And immediately he rose. Acts 9:34

And all the residents of Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord. Acts 9:35

Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:3

Joppa

Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which, translated, means Dorcas. She was full of good works and acts of charity. In those days she became ill and died, and when they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room.  Acts 9:36-37

All the widows stood beside him weeping and showing tunics and other garments that Dorcas made while she was with them. Acts 9:39

Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him, “Please come to us without delay.” Acts 9:38

Taking her by the hand he said to her, “Talitha cumi,” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” Mark 5:41

But Peter put them all outside, and knelt down and prayed; and turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up. Acts 9:40

And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord. Acts 9:42

God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.” Acts 3:26
